DORRY SEGEV, MD, PHD
CLINICALLY ACTIVE TRANSPLANT SURGEON AND VICE CHAIR FOR RESEARCH IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY AT JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY
DR. SEGEV IS A CLINICALLY ACTIVE TRANSPLANT SURGEON AND VICE CHAIR FOR RESEARCH IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY AT JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY. His clinical interests include minimally invasive donor nephrectomy and incompatible kidney transplantation. His NIH-funded research interests span many areas in transplantation, including kidney exchange, desensitization, long-term donor risk, access to transplantation, geographic disparities, post-transplant outcomes, and the intersection between transplantation and gerontology. With a graduate degree in biostatistics, Dr. Segev focuses on novel statistical and mathematical methods for simulation of medical data, analysis of large healthcare datasets, and outcomes research.
Dr. Segev has published over 200 peer-reviewed research articles, including 10 in JAMA, NEJM, and Lancet and nearly 100 in the American Journal of Transplantation. His work has directly influenced policy, including two Congressional bills (the Norwood Act for kidney exchange and the HOPE Act for HIV-to-HIV transplants), and is regularly featured in widely read media including TIME magazine, Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times.
HOWEVER, DR. SEGEV IS MOST INSPIRED BY HIS ROLE AS A MENTOR, HAVING MENTORED OVER 50 GRADUATE STUDENTS, RESIDENTS, AND FACULTY, AND IS THE ONLY GENERAL SURGEON IN THE US FUNDED BY AN NIH/NIDDK MENTORING GRANT.
MACEY HENDERSON, JD, PHD
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY, DIVISION OF TRANSPLANT SURGERY AT THE JOHNS HOPKINS SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
DR. HENDERSON IS AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY, DIVISION OF TRANSPLANT SURGERY AT THE JOHNS HOPKINS SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. She holds a joint appointment in the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and is a core faculty member in the Epidemiology Research Group in Organ Transplantation.
Dr. Henderson actively develops policy and guidance related donation and transplantation in the U.S. serving on the Board of Directors at the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network / United Network for Organ Sharing (OPTN/UNOS). She has been a member of the UNOS/OPTN Living Donor Committee since 2013. Dr. Henderson is the Co-Chair of the Live Donor Follow-up Task force at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, and the Director of Kidney Space, a new Facebook integrated health-app for kidney patients, transplant recipients, and living donors.
Currently funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Dr. Henderson is developing a mobile health system for living kidney donor follow-up. She is a recipient of the Rothman Early Career Development Award for Surgical Research, and a Johns Hopkins Center for AIDS Research faculty development grant to lead the development and implementation of informed consent processes for HIV+ living donor candidates under HOPE Act research protocols. Dr. Henderson is the key donation professional on a HRSA grant to study the implementation of the Live Donor Champion program.
DR. HENDERSON RECEIVED HER JD FROM THE INDIANA UNIVERSITY MAURER SCHOOL OF LAW IN BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA AND A PHD IN HEALTH POLICY AND MANAGEMENT FROM THE RICHARD M. FAIRBANKS SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH IN INDIANAPOLIS. SHE DONATED A KIDNEY TO HER COUSIN MARC AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN IN 2009.

Terri Goodman & Associates is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Social workers may earn one contact hour of continuing eduction by completing either the Live or OnDemand webinar. PROFESSIONAL COUSELORS

For attendees that are not included in one of the above categories, The Living Bank issues a Certificate of Successful Completion to those who complete the Live or OnDemand webinar.
