Dr. Giuliano Testa is a graduate of the University of Padova Medical School in Italy. After obtaining his medical degree Cum Laude he completed a residency in General Surgery at the same University. After arriving in the States, he first completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of Chicago and then a fellowship in Abdominal Organ Transplantation at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Testa then moved to Germany to the University of Essen where he was instrumental in starting the first Adult-to-Adult Living Donor Liver Transplant Program in Europe. In 2001, he was recruited with the title of Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of the Liver Transplant Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2005, he moved to the University of Chicago as Director of Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery and rose to the rank of Professor of Surgery.

In 2008, Dr. Testa completed the Fellowship in Clinical Ethics at the MacLean Center for Clinical Ethics of the University of Chicago and joined the Faculty to become the Associate Director of the Surgical Ethics Program.

Dr. Testa was recruited by Baylor University Medical Center in July 2011 to lead the Living Donor Liver Program, and in August of 2015 he became the Surgical Chief of Abdominal Transplant for the Simmons Transplant Institute.

Dr Testa is actively involved in the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, where he currently is a member of the Living Donation Committee, was a member of the Reimbursement Committee and in UNOS where he was a member of the Living Donor Committee. He is also a member of the Ethics Committee of the Baylor University Medical Center and the North Texas Bioethics Consortium.

Dr. Testa is author or co-author of more than 160 manuscripts and several book chapters. He is a recognized authority in the field of Living Donor Liver Transplantation and Living Donor Intestinal Transplantation with a new interest in
Uterus Transplantation.

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) hours are co-provided by Terri Goodman & Associates. Terri Goodman & Associates is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission Accreditation. CNE is valid nationwide and accepted by nursing professional organizations in many foreign countries. Nurses may earn one contact hour of CNE by completing the Live webinar only.

SOCIAL WORKERS

The ILDAN™ program is approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886638759-4624) and the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners. Social workers may earn one contact hour of continuing eduction by completing either the Live or OnDemand webinar. Social workers can earn one contact hour of continuing education credit from the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners by completing either the Live or OnDemand webinar.

PROFESSIONAL COUSELORS

The ILDAN™ program is approved by Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. Professional counselors may earn one contact hour of continuing eduction by completing either the Live or OnDemand webinar.

CERTIFICATE OF SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION

For attendees that are not included in one of the above categories, The Living Bank issues a Certificate of Successful Completion to those who complete the Live or OnDemand webinar.
