What is the Legacy Society?

The Legacy Society celebrates those
who share our vision and provides a
sustainable means to continue our
mission for years to come.

Our mission is to eliminate the shortage of organs for lifesaving transplants by being a trusted education resource for living organ donation and the leading provider of advocacy services for living donors.
Our vision is for living organ donation to be widely known, understood, and available to those needing a lifesaving transplant; and for living donors to receive the independent advocacy and support they need before, during and after transplantation.

GIVE SOMEONE THE GIFT OF LIFE

It’s natural for us to contemplate our lives and lasting impact. We want to support causes closest to our hearts. If you’re looking for a powerful way to leave your own life-changing legacy, consider a planned gift to The Living Bank.
By making a planned gift you help support the agency’s future. Joining our Legacy Society allows us to recognize you during your lifetime.

A charitable bequest is a gift through your will or trust and is the easiest way for you to support our mission. You may set aside a certain dollar amount or leave a percentage of your estate. Naming The Living Bank in your will or trust won’t cost you a penny in your lifetime—and you can update your beneficiary at any time.

Bequeathing an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) or 401(k) is another way to make a legacy gift.  By contacting the administrator of your retirement account to include us as a beneficiary, the portion designated to benefit The Living Bank will pass to our nonprofit organization tax-free when your estate is realized.

Additionally, if your account is subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), did you know you can distribute up to $100K per year to nonprofit organizations to lower your taxable income?

Similar to retirement accounts, gifts of insurance are a way to include The Living Bank in your plans. Simply contact the administrator of your insurance policy to include us as a beneficiary.

Beneficiary designations can often be changed online with your administrator and updated at any time; you may name individuals and nonprofits as primary or contingent beneficiaries for the percentage you desire.
